Mahder Tella (Mahdi) is a 3D portrait artist specializing in string art and mixing this medium with roofing nails. Her artistry also includes photography, painting, digital art, and resin sculptures. She is inspired by the beauty, power, and great pain from her home region of Tigray. She is an advocate for the end of the war in Tigray, Ethiopia, which is the target of widespread human rights abuses.
As one of the founders of The Tigray Art Collective, she brings together creatives to use art as an instrument of advocacy to amplify awareness, inspire healing, and innovate creative realities for Tigray.
